Known for his work as an executive producer for the sitcom "Schitt's Creek,' Feigin grew up in Silver Spring and won an Emmy award in 2020 for his work on the show.
He leaves behind his wife, Heidi, and their 11-year-old daughter, Ellie.
Eugene Levy, the show’s co-creator and one of its main characters, took to Twitter to express his condolences.
"We were saddened to hear the news of Ben Feigin’s passing," the tweet reads.
"The Schitt’s Creek family extend our most heartfelt condolences to his wife Heidi, his daughter Ellie, and all of his family and friends. He will be missed."
During his career, Feigin founded the company Equation Limited, and worked for several studios and agencies including Warner Bros. and United Talent Agency, the outlet says.
His younger sister, Betsy Feigin Befus, was requesting donations in his memory to the Stand Up To Cancer organization, according to her LinkedIn profile.
"I’m shouting his name from the rooftops because I’m so proud of his accomplishments, integrity, and amazing and unique sense of humor," she wrote.
"May his memory be for a blessing."
